The Sarbanes-Oxley Act: Deciphering the Mystery

Since the 2002 passage of the Sarbanes Oxley Act, information professionals have been placed in the middle of this relatively new legislation. However, there are many questions that these professionals would like answered in regard to this act. Questions such as: What is the Sarbanes Oxley Act? How is it implemented? How will it impact the information profession? These are some of the questions that will be discussed and answered at the Florida Caribbean Chapter�s Spring Program.

The impact of the changing corporate environment, new technology and new laws on records and information management (RIM) and the records and information manager (Sarbanes Oxley, E-Sign Act, HIPPA, FACTA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act). How the laws have affected corporations and their need for records and information management. Is the RIM out of the basement? (Jenny Jolinski)
