SLA Launches Centennial Web Site!

SLA is celebrating its 100th birthday in 2009!

SLA was founded in 1909 by John Cotton Dana and a group of librarians who recognized the need for an association which would promote cooperation and the sharing of knowledge to support business, government, academic and specialized librarians.

One hundred years later, the SLA Centennial Celebration Web site, your official gateway to all things related to the SLA Centennial, continues to promote that spirit of knowledge sharing and inspiration among our esteemed community!

The SLA Centennial Web site is your way to keep up with all the SLA Centennial Celebration events, news, contests and other fun items like the “100” lists of influential librarians and technological advances. The Web site also provides visionary and inspirational messages from past and present SLA leaders. Their stories address the big questions: Where have we been? Where are we going?

This announcement is a reprint from SLA.
