Riding the Intenet Waves:
What’s Catchy for Special Librarians

Gainesville, Florida, February 2, 1996

Polly Frierson of IBM Corporation in Rochester, Minnesota, opened the workshop with a presentation on “Special Librarians and the Internet”. In addition to showcasing several innovative uses of the Internet, Polly discussed and showed slides of the homepage for the IBM library.

Three librarians addressed “Value-Added Repackaging of the Internet”, by discussing and showing home pages they have developed as collections of Internet links. Each one described how they went about finding, evaluating, and selecting resources for a particular subject area.
