New MLIS Alumni program at USF

Several Alumni from the the School of Library and Information Science have worked together to form an Alumni Society at USF. It is hoped to be an opportunity for Alumni to share ideas, collaborate on projects, partner with the school and enrich it’s members with continuing education opportunities.

The mission of the USF LIS Alumni Society is to partner with the USF School of Information in facilitating networking, professional development, and student assistance opportunities for USF Library and Information Science Alumni around the world. The USF LIS Alumni Society is committed to serve its members by engaging group discussions from leaders in the library field, assisting the School of Information in developing curriculum, providing mentorship opportunities for students, and funding of student scholarships.

First meeting: Friday March 9th from 6:30 pm -8:30 pm at Traditions Hall in The Gibbons Alumni Center (USF Tampa). Parking for the event will be free.

Speaker: Chad Mairn, St. Pete College Librarian & Instructor and Chief Technology Officer at Novare Library Services – “Transforming Our Vision to Enhance Library Services”

6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Cost: FREE

Food / Drink: Sandwiches and Soda / Water provided
