New FCLA service: the Florida Finding Aid Factory

The Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA) is announcing a new service called the “Florida Finding Aid Factory.”

The FFAF is a hosted instance of Archon, software designed to create and publish archival finding aids on the web. FCLA is making this software available free of charge to institutions who may not otherwise have the IT resources
to host their own finding aid publishing software. Using Archon, institutions can create collection records, inventory lists, and online finding aids. Collection records can be exported as MARC records or as EAD records. FCLA will also ensure that all finding aids created through the FFAF service will be included in the
statewide finding aid repository, Archives Florida (http://palmm.fcla.edu/afl).

For more information on this service, please contact Caitlin Nelson, FCLA Digital Initiatives Librarian: cnelson@ufl.edu or 352-392-9020 x298.
