Free USPTO Workshop – Patents, Trademarks and More

The University of Central Florida, a Patent and Trademark Depository Library (PTDL) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), will be sponsoring a free patents and trademarks conference on Wednesday, May 12, from 9 am – 5:30 pm (registration from 8:30am – 9 am). The workshop will cover patents and trademark searching, navigating the USPTO website, and other issues such as copyright and trade secrets.

The day long workshop will be conducted by representatives from the USPTO along with a speaker on tech transfer topics, and representatives from local inventor groups. Whether you’re an inventor, entrepreneur, patents attorney, student, professor or other interested individual, this workshop will demonstrate different ways to search for patents and trademarks by strengthening your current skills base. For those new to the process, you will learn how to conduct a patent and trademark search.

The University of Central Florida is an excellent venue for the USPTO workshop. As a depository library, UCF provides free assistance for searching the USPTO Website for current and older patents and trademarks to the university’s students, faculty, staff, and community members. In its collection, the UCF library owns supporting patent and trademark materials from the USPTO and commercial publishers.
