The SLA Florida and Caribbean Chapter is pleased to announce two winners of the 2009 travel grant: Karen Roth and Ann Marie Maloney.

Karen Roth has been selected to receive the professional travel grant and will share her conference experience with the membership via an article in the Chapter newsletter. She also plans to expand her involvement with the
Florida chapter by mentoring newer librarians. Karen received her M.L.S. from University of South Florida in Tampa. She has been a member of SLA since 2003 and currently works as the solo medical librarian at Morton
Plant Mease Health Care in Clearwater, FL.

Ann Marie Maloney has been selected to receive the student travel grant and plans to share her conference experience with the chapter via an article in the Blue Heron Newsletter. She will also document her conference experience on University of South Florida’s Librarians in
Training Blog. Ann Marie is currently a student in the M.L.S. program at University of South Florida in Tampa. She also works in the library at the Galen College of Nursing in St. Petersburg, FL.

The grants, sponsored by the Florida and Caribbean Chapter of SLA, will support these librarians in attending SLA 2009 Annual Conference & INFO-EXPO that will be held on June 14-17, 2009 in Washington, D.C.
